90 mins: Lizarazu hits two shots after a cross drops to him, the first bounces off Seitaridis while the second is blazed over the bar.
90 mins: Wiltord smashes a shot from distance but is blocked Zidane can't control.
89 mins: Rothen attempts to cross from the left but the ball has already run out and Greece have another free-kick.
88 mins: Saha can't keep the ball in on the byline and Nikopolidis hammers the ball clear.
87 mins: Henry heads wide when free in the area, that has been France's best chance for some time.

82 mins: Rothen wins a throw when his cross loops into the air and is nervously helped out for a throw.
81 mins: Another ball booted ball out is sent back where it came from by Barthez. Nikopolidis returns his kick but Thuram wins the aerial battle for the ball.
80 mins: The pattern for the last 10 minutes has surely been set with France pinning the Greeks into their own half. After a cross drops in Kapsis flaps in the area but he hacks clear with Rothen close by.
79 mins: Santini's last roll of the dice is to bring on Jerome Rothen, Pires departs having struggled to produce his top form.
78 mins: Seitaridis wins the ball off Henry calmly and clears long.
77 mins: Greece are sitting back a little now and so often in this tournament that has been punished. France clearly have the ability to score but whether they have the verve or energy is another matter.
76 mins: Henry is the next to trickle a shot goalwards and these weak efforts from the French signify their lack of real chances.
75 mins: Lakis runs teasingly towards the French back four but they hold firm, a lack of support ensures he loses out to Thuram.
74 mins: Zidane rolls a short pass to Saha who cuts in from the left beating Zagorakis and Kapsis but his shot is weak and eay for Nikopolidis.
73 mins: Thuram's cross almost finds Saha but Greece hack out. Pires then races down the left but his cross is too high and the ball goes out for a throw-in.
72 mins: France, trying to rescue the situation, make two substitutions. Dacourt and Trezeguet are the men off while Louis Saha and Sylvain Wiltord replace them.

65 mins: GOAL CHARISTEAS. Zagorakis beats Lizarazu by flicking it over the Frenchman. He cuts inside and knocks in a perfect cross for Charisteas who rises alone and powers his header past Barthez.
64 mins: From the right of the Greece box Henry hits a shot, though on target it was never going to bother Nikopolidis.
63 mins: Pires is chopped down as he piles down the left. The already booked Zagorakis escapes a second yellow and France play the free-kick short. Dacourt's little ball through is just too long for Pires who is denied a shot by Nikopolidis who races out.
62 mins: Dacourt loses out to Karagounis because of a weak ball from Makelele but France harry him off the ball in numbers.
61 mins: Greece make a change substituting Nikolaidis for Vassilios Lakis.
60 mins: Trezeguet wins a free-kick when he competes for Henry's hoofed ball forward. Greece are unable to clear but breathe easier when Henry hammers a volley into the crowd.
59 mins: Gallas then jinks into the box with a confident run but having beaten one man he loses control and Greece scramble clear.
58 mins: A cross from Henry is chipped to the back-post and headed out from under the bar before it can be converted by Trezeguet.
57 mins: France clear and a fantastic run by Lizarazu beat two men before being crowded out in the Greek area.
56 mins: Charisteas' clever ball almost finds Nikolaidis creeping into the area.
55 mins: Zagorakis flicks the ball away from Zidane's feet and Bassinass completes the clearance by hitting the ball long.
54 mins: Bassinas kicks the ball out when Zagorakis is caught above the ankle by Thuram. No foul is awarded and play continues when France return the ball to the Greeks.
53 mins: Greece earn a free-kick just inside France's half but Bassinas over-hits his cross and it sails high over the bar.
52 mins: Zagorakis manages to get a lobbed cross in from the right corner of the pitch. Barthez watches the high ball carefully and punches out.
51 mins: The dead-ball is taken short and Makelele's run goalwards ends when he is bundled over by Bassinas. The free-kick is taken short once more but the ball ends up back with Nikopolidis.
50 mins: Zagorakis is cautioned for an ugly tackle from behind on Pires.
49 mins: Henry does well to get a shot in on the edge of the area but Dellas just gets his body across and deflects it away. Referee Anders Frisk fails to spot this and a goal-kick is awarded.

47 mins: Seitaridis robs Henry of the ball and passes short to Zagorakis. The midfielder is not so accurate and surrenders possession to the largely anonymous Dacourt.
46 mins: Greece get the action restarted but a lazy ball quickly hands France possession. Neither team has made changes at half-time.

45 mins: Henry plays a perfectly weighted ball to the right flank but Thuram instead of hitting a cross first time attempts to beat his man and the ball races out for a goal-kick. Nikopolidis goal-kick goes high and the whistle goes for half-time.
45 mins: Zidane recklessly takes Karagounis down in the centre of the park and receives a yellow card for his thoughtlessness.
44 mins: France's patience is nearly rewarded with a goal but Greece do enough to deflect Henry's shot and though the direction is changed all the pace is taken off the ball and Nikopolidis collects easily.
43 mins: France hold onto possession but Greece's tactics of getting men behind the ball means there are few gaps for the frontmen to exploit.
42 mins: Barthez picks his pass and finds Zidane on the left.
41 mins: Fissas takes a throw down the left but Greece can only hit a hopeful ball that rolls out for a goal-kick.
40 mins: Silvestre's faltering ball eventually finds Barthez quite comfortably and the French goalkeeper passes out to Pires.
39 mins: A ball from left to right by Zidane is directed at Gallas but the defender pulls out of a tackle allowing Fissas to nick the ball off his feet and pass through the middle.

37 mins: Fissas takes a long diagonal ball on his chest down the left. His first touch puts him past Thuram while his second is a dipping volley that Barthez punches one-handed over the bar.
36 mins: Henry's pretty backheel comes to nothing after Lizarazu is penalised for tugging on the shirt of Nikolaidis as they both chase for the ball.
35 mins: Katsouranis sends a drifiting ball to the back-post which drops close to the six yard box, Silvestre stoops and cleverly directs his header out to the wing.
34 mins: Dellas is down injured after being caught by Trezeguet.
33 mins: Henry holds the ball up down the left and and passes backwards to Pires who fouls Seitaridis.
32 mins: Zidane's corner is poor but Greece only clear to half-way.
31 mins: Lizarazu wins a corner when his cross crashes off Dellas and behind.
30 mins: Thuram picks up a lobbed ball from Silvestre and hits a cross to the centre, Greece are defending stoutly and head out.
29 mins: Makelele brings the ball into the Greek half but seems short of ideas and eventually does the best thing by handing possession over to Zidane.
28 mins: France cannot capitalise on the first clearance and Greece add another shot to their tally when Katsouranis' snapped effort is sharply saved by Barthez.

24 mins: Lizarazu reaches the byline for the second time in the match. This time his cross his is chipped high and beats the Greek defence. Henry soars into the air but despite having a free header, and making good contact, he guides his effort wide.
23 mins: Greece remain in French territory but cannot create anything dangerous.
22 mins: Greece don't give the French much time to breathe and Charisteas causes trouble down the right but Silvestre is alert and shepherds the ball back to Barthez after the forward lost control of the ball after trying to take on one too many players.
21 mins: Greece hold onto the ball down the left knocking it round quickly. Fissas crosses but it is too deep and rolls off allowing the French to clear.
20 mins: Fissas takes a Greek free-kick inside his own half, knocking it long down the left.
19 mins: A long pass to Henry is too high for the striker to do anything useful with and Nikopolidis catches the ball.
18 mins: France are holding onto possession much more with the defence happy to keep hold of the ball.
17 mins: Pires probes down the left once more but this time his progress is not so well supported and halted before any danger emerges.
16 mins: On the break Pires thunders down the left, Lizarazu supports the winger and cuts in with the ball. Greece have been doing their research and with everyone marked they use four players to block the left-back's centre aimed at Henry.
15 mins: Greece try to claim a goal after Karagounis' low shot is palmed onto the post by Barthez. The ball then hovers over the line before the goalkeeper recovers and collects the ball. The linesman is not interested in the Greek claims and play continues.
14 mins: Charisteas and Nikolaidis swap smart passes before the latter cracks a strong shot goalwards. Barthez is well placed and holds onto the fierce drive.
13 mins: Silvestre smashes a volley long over the Greek defence and Nikopolidis gathers.

3 mins: Quickly taken short the ball is then swept to the right where Zidane's cross towards Henry is caught by Nikopolidis.

1 mins: A thumped ball back by Greece forces Thuram to watch the ball carefully out though he takes a boot in the head from Nikolaidis who eagerly swings for the ball.

Pre-match: Patrick Vieira has failed a late fitness test for France's Euro 2004 quarter-final
with Greece at the Estadio Jose Alvalade with Olivier Dacourt getting his second
start of the tournament in place of the injured Arsenal midfielder.
Former Leeds midfielder Dacourt, who had a poor game in the 2-2 draw with
Croatia, won the vote over Benoit Pedretti to replace Vieira who has been
nursing sore muscles in his thigh.
The only other change to the French team that beat Switzerland 3-1 in their
last group match is the return of Chelsea's William Gallas at right-back in
place of Willy Sagnol whose tournament is over with a broken left arm.
For Greece Demis Nikolaidis comes in for the suspended Zissis Vryzas alongside
Angelos Charisteas up front while Bolton's Stelios Giannakopoulos has failed a late
fitness test and starts on the bench.
Greece, competing in the knockout stages of a major tournament for the first
time, are considered the outsiders in a match with the defending champions for
the right to play the winners of the quarter-final between the Czech Republic
and Denmark in the semi-finals.
