A victory and draw against Manchester City have kept alive their hopes of progressing in Europe.
Next up is a trip to IJsseldelta Stadion to face struggling Zwolle as they attempt to claw their way into the top four of the Eredivisie.
Babel believes the 2-2 midweek draw with Manchester City saw his side lay down a marker.
"I believe we made a little statement because it was a tough match against Manchester City," he said.
"It was a different game from the game against City at home. They pushed a lot from the start. It was a positive result for us."

Eredivisie leaders Twente travel to Vitesse Arnhem in a clash between two title challengers.
Twente have been boosted by the news that their highly-rated forward Nacer Chadli is expected to remain with them until the end of the season.
Chadli is wanted in the Barclays Premier League and Fulham were close to signing him in the summer, but the 23-year-old's agent Daniel Evrard expects him to stay with Steve McClaren's side beyond the January transfer window.
"A lot of European teams are interested in him and I have had contact with German and English sides," he said.
"Nacer has a contract with Twente until June 2014, but at the end of this season he could go to a big team in a big league.
"I don't think Twente will sell him in January because they are top of the Eredivisie and they want to play in the Champions League next season."
Third place Vitesse Arnhem will slash Twente's lead at the top to a single point if they prevail.
PSV Eindhoven could overtake Twente if they beat mid-table Heerenveen at Philips Stadion and their title rivals draw or lose.
