Tottenham defender Younes Kaboul has not travelled with the squad for the UEFA Cup clash against Anderlecht in Belgium.
Kaboul made high-profile mistakes in his last two games and head coach Juande Ramos will use a makeshift defence instead.
Other defenders out include Ledley King, Anthony Gardner, Gareth Bale, Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Ricardo Rocha, although midfielder Jermaine Jenas is back after an ankle injury.
Anderlecht coach Ariel Jacobs has said, with regards to his side's injuries: "(Nicolas) Pareja is out with a cracked muscle. (Roland) Juhasz up until now hardly had any training time. And (Lucas) Biglia has pains from a knee injury he sustained against Standard Liege.
"We feel stress at the moment, but the other Belgian clubs don't even play in Europe any more. Then we have no problem with that stressful feeling."
