Fiorentina striker Adrian Mutu is looking for the best possible end to 2007 as his side go into their decisive UEFA Cup Group C clash against Mlada Boleslav.
La Viola need just a point at home against the Czech side to book their place in the next round but the visitors will be going all out for the victory that could secure them top spot in the group.
And Mutu knows that success in Europe followed by a domestic three points against rock-bottom Cagliari three days later would send his side into the winter break on a high.
"I think that there is a lot of desire to win these last two games of the year," Mutu told www.acffiorentina.it.
"We want to get a good victory on Thursday and then finish nicely on Sunday. The conditions are perfect for it, we are confident but calm and determined."
Mlada have already eliminated an Italian team in this year's competition - knocking out Palermo on penalties in the first round after winning 1-0 in Sicily - and have never lost an away tie in the group stages.
"We are playing with a side who really want to go through to the next round but aware of the difficulty," said Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli. "They are physically strong and I know the Czechs have been preparing for this clash for ages.
"We have the desire and need to go through. We must keep the rhythm high because their physicality and pace could put us in difficulty. All our concentration is focused on tomorrow."
For Czech Republic star Tomas Ujfalusi it is the first time he will face a club from his country in European competition. The defender also comes up against former teammate, goalkeeper Petr Pizanowski.
Mlada know that only a victory will earn them a place in the next round while that could also see Fiorentina through should Villarreal beat AEK Athens in the other group match.
Midfielder Riccardo Montolivo is injured while Mario Alberto Santana and Martin Jorgensen have also been left out of the squad to keep them fit for Sunday.
Goalkeeper Sebastien Frey who has been an ever-present is out after twisting his knee last week in training while Alessandro Potenza will not make his return to football until the new year.
But fellow defenders Alessandro Gamberini and Per Kroldrup are both available again.
Mlada will be without midfielder Marek Matejovsky who is suspended, having picked up three yellow cards.
