The Scottish Football Association has announced this season's Scottish Cup competition will be branded the Active Nation Scottish Cup.

Last October saw the SFA sign a two-year sponsorship deal with both the Scottish Government and former Celtic director Willie Haughey, who agreed to put up £1million per year.

The competition was known as the Homecoming Scottish Cup last season in a bid to attract tourists to Scotland during the 250th anniversary of Robert Burns' birth.

The latest change of branding is part of the Scottish Government's plan to encourage Scots to lead healthier lives.

SFA chief executive Gordon Smith said: "We are delighted that our partnership with the Scottish Government and Willie Haughey is continuing for another year.

"I really do believe that by working together, we can make significant and lasting changes to our national game and our country."

Until last season, the Scottish Cup was without a sponsor for 18 months after Tennents transferred their sponsorship to the national team.
