SEVERAL SIDELINED FOR CUMBRIANS

Norwich 5/4 Carlisle 9/4 Draw 9/4

Carlisle manager Greg Abbott is set to be without a number of key players for the FA Cup clash with Norwich.

Defender David Raven remains absent with a hip injury but has begun his rehabilitation and is expected to be out for at least a month.

Captain Paul Thirlwell is another long-term casualty and he is set for another three weeks out with an Achilles injury.

The duo are joined in the treament room by Marc Bridge-Wilkinson (knee) and striker Richard Offiong, who jarred his knee in training during the week.

Andy Cook will miss the rest of the season with a broken foot, while midfielder Gavin Rothery has joined Barrow on loan until January after failing to establish himself at Brunton Park.

On-loan midfielder Adam Clayton is expected to overcome a knee problem and play some part.

Norwich manager Paul Lambert is expected to name the same starting line-up for the fourth successive match.

Defender Russell Martin, signed on loan from Peterborough this week, is available but is likely to be on the bench for the FA Cup second-round tie, which is being shown live on www.thefa.com.

Fellow loan signing Anthony McNamee is cup-tied having played for Swindon in their first-round win over non-league Woking.

Michael Spillane (hamstring), Matt Gill (calf), Owain Tudur Jones (groin), Declan Rudd (knee), George Francomb and Luke Daley (both thigh) remain sidelined.

Defender Gary Doherty, who appeared to be on his way out of Carrow Road after a poor start to the season, is poised to make his 200th senior appearance for the Canaries.
