Teenage substitute Wayne Riley grabbed a late winner to fire Blue Square North outfit Northwich Victoria into the FA Cup second round at the hands of League One Charlton.
Eighteen-year-old Riley had only been on the field for five minutes when Michael O'Connor's looped header put him clear but the substitute coolly slipped the ball past Darren Randolph to seal a deserved win.
A man-of-the-match display from Randolph had looked to have done enough to earn the Addicks a replay at The Valley until Riley's 81st-minute heroics.
Plucky Oxford City's dream ended in tears as Ryan Austin spared Burton's blushes with a last-gasp goal to snatch a 3-2 triumph.
In the fifth minute of added time, the Southern League side had defender Andy Ballard sent off for a second bookable offence and, from Michael Simpson's free kick, full-back Austin stole in to head the winner off a post.
Oxford's part-timers made a dream start by taking the lead after only six minutes when goalkeeper Artur Krysiak allowed an 18-yard shot from former Burton midfielder Michael Alexis to slip through his hands.
But the League Two side were back on level terms inside eight minutes courtesy of a Shaun Harrad penalty after the striker had been flattened by City full-back Michael Perpetuini.
Burton's improving form was rewarded by a second goal on the stroke of half-time when Michael Simpson's pass split the Oxford defence for Jacques Maghoma to slip a close-range shot past Richard Knight.
But Oxford refused to lie down and fought back to equalise in the 55th minute when midfielder Jamie Brooks powered home a 12-yard header from a Mark Janes cross. But Austin had the final say deep into injury time.
Drewe Broughton's man-of-the-match display helped League Two Rotherham avoid a potential banana skin by registering a 3-2 triumph at Ryman Premier League outfit Wealdstone.
Rotherham drew first blood just after the hour when Wealdstone keeper Sean Thomas dawdled on a James Gray backpass and only succeeded in blasting the ball into the onrushing Adam Le Fondre and into the net.
And the visitors didn't have to wait long for a second when former Chester frontman Kevin Ellison hammered home a fantastic 25-yard strike a minute before the interval.
An all-action Wealdstone got themselves back into the game after 63 minutes when Ryan Ashe arrowed in a volley from the edge of the box. But the dream looked to be over when Broughton got the goal he deserved eight minutes from time with a well-taken glancing header.
Yet the Stones refused to lie down and after good work from substitute Danny Spendlove, Ashe notched his second of the game but it wasn't enough.
