Picture 4min: Ngog flicks home Liverpool's opener.

DEBRECEN v LIVERPOOL MIN-BY-MIN

Full-time: Debrecen 0 Liverpool 1

90 + 4: Liverpool win 1-0 thanks to Ngog's early goal, but the attention now switches to Italy where Fiorentina are winning, but there is about five minutes left. Stay with us for all the post-match reaction.

90 + 3: Liverpool's defenders allow the ball to bounce in the area, but Coulibaly hits straight at Reina.

90 + 2: Aquilani comes on for Gerrard. That would give the Italian about 30 seconds to play.

90: We enter added time. The match in Fiorentina is about five minutes behind events in Hungary.

88: The Reds survive and break, but they take their time and Debrecen are back to defend. When the ball is out of play Aurelio makes way for Andrea Dossena.

87: Debrecen win a corner as Insua, who has been poor, heads behind. The home side take the ball short and Gerrard has to put behind for another corner at the near post.

84: Liverpool cannot be faulted for effort, but they have not made endless chances count and it appears to be irrelevant with Fiorentina still winning in Italy.

81: Rudolf almost stuns the Reds as Reina is forced to punch away a cross-shot at the last minute. That was a close shave for the Liverpool goalkeeper.

80: Liverpool are taking chances. Rudolf again does well and almost finds Coulibaly, but the Debrecen substitute is well offside.

78: Carragher heads a corner just wide of the far post.

77: Ngog is coming off as Benayoun enters the match for Liverpool.

74: Aurelio has the chance to launch the ball into the penalty area from a free-kick. However, the Brazilian puts way too much power on his delivery and smacks out of play.

73: Mascherano takes a big risk when attempting a slide tackle on Rudolf on the very edge of the Liverpool box. Debrecen want a penalty, but referee Bjorn Kuipers is not interested.

71: Liverpool are still hogging possession, but while the score remains 1-0, and taking into account low morale and defensive problems this season, do not rule out a Debrecen equaliser. The Reds need substitutions.

68: Agger goes on one of his trademark, classy runs forward and squares for Gerrard who smashes an effort over the bar.

64: Insua's confidence continues to look to have suffered severely in Liverpool's struggles as he gives the ball away and takes a risk when putting his arms on Rudolf in the penalty area.

63: Lucas, who fluffed a header against Manchester City at the weekend, again makes a mess of nodding on goal as fails to properly connect with a Kuyt cross. The word from Italy is that Fiorentina are still dominating.

62: It looks as though Debrecen are switching to 4-4-2 as Peter Szakaly trudges off to be replaced by the physical presence of Adamo Coulibaly.

59: Gerrard is denied by goalkeeper Poleksic this time after being set up by Johnson. Liverpool are moving forward at will, but they still need a favour from Lyon.

58: Gerrard races through on the Debrecen goal, but a defender is across to block at the last minute.

56: It is all Liverpool again at the start of the second half in a copy of the first half. I have lost count of how many corners the Reds have earned, but as it stands they are still heading for the Europa League.

54: A Gerrard shot deflects off a Debrecen defender for a corner. The Hungarians make a mess of clearing and the ball almost falls for Carragher, but the home side survive.

52: Insua puts his head down to pass and as he does so Kuyt moves. That has summed up the Argentine's season, which has tailed off as Liverpool have struggled.

50: Gerrard slings in a low cross and Mirsad Mijadinoski puts out for a corner. Debrecen threaten to counter-attack, but Liverpool comfortably defend.

49: Kuyt crosses low into the Debrecen box from the right, but the ball cannot find a way past a substation wall of home defenders.

48: Liverpool, who took their foot off the gas at the end of the first half, appear to have more intent in the early stages of the second period.

46: Insua goes charging forward and lets rip from similar range to his goal against Arsenal, but he is wide of the target.

WE'RE BACK: Liverpool get the second half going. They will know that they are going out at present.

Steve Tyler: "By the sounds of it, this game has been much like our season so far, and what with Lyon losing the lads aren't getting no inspiration to really push on in this game. Really pleased Ngog is playing well and would really like to see Aquilani have a big part of the 2nd half as at the moment it doesn't look like our result will mean much so little pressure on him."

Lloyd Ronde says: "Liverpool look up for it. As an Arsenal fan I'd still like to see Liverpool qualify. Although they've totally dominated the game, it seems a bit too late for this now, they should have done it earlier."

Daniel Shatford says: "We have to keep playing the way we were playing early on with ngog scoring. We can't change what happens in Florence we must put that out of our minds and if we take our chances we could be looking at a healthy win which is what we should be doing against teams like Debrecen."

Emerson Lee says: "Shame for Liverpool...but they must keep going to just accept they are out would be bad for morale...could even run over into the premier league....this could be their whole season....."

45: HALF-TIME: Liverpool end the first half winning 1-0 thanks to Ngog's fourth minute goal. Bad news for the Reds is that Fiorentina are still winning so at present the Italians will qualify. Let me have your thoughts on the opening 45 minutes at peter.fraser@bskyb.com.

42: Everything has gone a little flat at the moment. Both sets of players seem to be looking towards the half-time whistle as Carragher does well to slide in and prevent Rudolf from meeting a cross.

40: Ngog is harshly adjudged to have fouled Laczko when attempting to tackle back.

38: Ngog is having a good game and has been improving as a player over the weeks as he forces Poleksic to dive to his left and save. Liverpool force another two-on-one situation, but Debrecen head away.

37: Debrecen are visibly growing in confidence as Kuyt is tackled when attempting to break from midfield. Liverpool's dominance of the ball is slowly being eroded.

36: Insua is unlucky as the Argentine full-back raids forward, but loses his footing at the byline. Blame the soggy pitch.

34: I'm not entirely sure Johnson looks fit. He gives away a free-kick and Debrecen eventually build up to a cross, which Carragher does well to head away under pressure from Laczko.

33: Liverpool have got a little bit sloppy, possibly because they know what is happening in Italy. Rudolf has his head in his hands as he beats Johnson to a cross and nods wide.

30: Ngog is limping and holding his back after a heavy fall when challenging for the ball. Not what an already-injured Liverpool need. Debrecen fans cheer an announcement via the public address system that Fiorentina are winning.

28: Ngog receives the ball after clean build-up and Ngog cuts in from the left to force a corner with a right-footed shot. Debrecen clear the corner and worse news for Liverpool is that Fiorentina have scored their penalty. As it stands, the Reds are going out.

26: Johnson brings down Zsolt Laczko in a clumsy challenge and gives Debrecen a chance to load players into the box. The hosts, though, are wasteful and the Reds clear. Fiorentina have a penalty.

24: Debrecen carve their first real attack as Szelesi flashes a free-kick across the edge of the box, but there is not any genuine danger as Johnson is back to help out Carragher.

23: Zoltan Szelesi is the first to go in the book as he is punished for a high arm in an aerial collision with Gerrard.

22: Gerrard turns a fired pass from Kuyt around the corner of his marker in the direction of Ngog. But Debrecen defender Mirsad Mijadinoski steps in to clear.

20: Mascherano dwells on the ball in midfield and he needed a shout from a team-mate as Gergely Rudolf robs him in possession. Debrecen then win a free-kick and hit it long forcing Jose Reina into his only real action so far as he gathers a bouncing ball.

18: Kuyt cuts in from the right and crosses, Insua wins the ball back and passes to Gerrard. Unfortunately for Liverpool, their captain's pass is wasteful as he taps out of play.

16: Again Liverpool work a two-on-one situation from the free-kick and Aurelio's cross-shot nutmegs Kuyt at the back post. A second goal for Liverpool is surely only a matter of minutes away.

15: Liverpool have a chance to cross from wide as Johnson is prevented from attacking by a handball from Zsolt Laczko.

13: Gerrard and Kuyt and being allowed to roam at will due to Debrecen's super-defensive tactics.

12: Mascherano demonstrates exactly why he is not renowned for his goalscoring as the Argentine scuffs a long-ranger well wide.

10: Debrecen are again slow to react to a swiftly taken Liverpool set play and Kuyt is inches away from meeting Gerrard's cross. Bad news from Italy for the Reds, Fiorentina are dominating and have hit the post twice.

9: Liverpool are enjoying almost complete control of the ball and Agger sprays a glorious pass to Kuyt wide on the right, but the Dutchman cannot quite control. If Liverpool keep their composure in the final third, there will be plenty of goals.

7: On a rare venture forward, Debrecen earn a free-kick. However, Liverpool's much-maligned zonal marking is not tested as the ball from wide on the left is punted straight out for a goal-kick.

6: Debrecen are really struggling at set-plays. Aurelio whips a free-kick into the danger area and the ball almost drops kindly for Agger, but Poleksic pounces.

4: GOAL NGOG. A dream start for Liverpool! The Reds win two quick corners and the second is nodded back across goal by Carragher to allow Ngog to apply a glanced finish which trickles in via the far post from close range.

3: It is all Liverpool in these very early stages as Debrecen are sitting with five players across the midfield. Will the Reds be able to break down stubborn opponents without Torres?

2: Mascherano again looks for an advanced Gerrard, but goalkeeper Vukasin Poleksic is off his line to gather.

1: Mascherano looks for an early pass forward towards Gerrard, but the ball is massively over hit and goes for a Debrecen goal-kick.
