QPR: Backed to beat Leicester

Leaders QPR have been virtually faultless at Loftus Road this season and that's why I'm backing them to come through the biggest threat to their proud home record this weekend.

Rangers have dropped just four points from a possible 30 since their calamitous relegation from the Premier League.

That form has been built on a virtually impregnable defence which has conceded just two goals from those 10 games.

The star-studded squad that has been put together by Harry Redknapp would surely have put up a better fight in the top flight last term and they seem to have a real bond, unlike the chaos of last season.

They could do with adding more goals, their tally of 24 is by far the fewest in the top six, so I can't see this being a goal fest.

But I get the feeling their big name players will be keen to lay down a marker for the rest of the season and a win here would give them some breathing space from the Foxes heading into the hectic festive season. I can't recall Rangers being odds-against at home all season so I'd definitely invest in the 11/10.

In League 1 I like the look of the 7/4 on in-form Rotherham to see off Wolves.

The Millers have flown into promotion contention with a run of four wins in their last five with their 2-1 success at Bristol City taking them up to sixth.

The recent loan additions of defender James Tavernier and midfielder Haris Vuckic from Newcastle plus Wigan striker Nouha Dicko have given them a real spark.

Dicko particularly has been superb. The speedy forward has found games hard to come by in recent years at Latics but is using this loan to show exactly what he can do with four goals in the last four games.

While Steve Evans' men have hit a rich vein of form, Wolves are having a little wobble of late that has seen them replaced at the top by Leyton Orient.

They've lost their last two to Peterborough and MK Dons without scoring and this makes the 15/8 on the home win too good to ignore.

I'm also going with two more form teams in League 2 in a home double of high-fliers Newport and Scunthorpe to see off AFC Wimbledon and Morecambe respectively.

The Exiles are a place better off in fourth and evens compared to the slightly odds-on Iron but both have excellent home records.

I always thought County would go well after winning the Conference play-offs but I didn't envisage them being fourth at this stage.

Huge credit has to go to boss Justin Edinburgh, who will surely be getting admiring glances from elsewhere, and in their last two games they have beaten Chesterfield at home and ruined Richie Barker's start to life at Pompey.

I also like the way Edinburgh has talked about being so positive in pursuit of promotion and they should have too much firepower for AFC Wimbledon.

The Iron meanwhile have responded brilliantly to Brian Laws surprisingly being axed in November. Assistant Russ Wilcox has been handed the caretaker reins until January and could hardly have done much more to push his case to land the job permanently.

It took a 97th minute equaliser from Wycombe's Leon Johnson to deny them a fourth straight win last weekend and they will be desperate to put that right against the Shrimps at Glanford Park.
