League Two pace-setters Bournemouth slipped to a shock 2-1 defeat against Hereford on Tuesday night.

Marc Pugh scored twice at Edgar Street, rendering Steve Fletcher's goal academic.

Dagenham and Redbridge also lost, falling to third in the process, as Barnet wrapped up a 2-0 win in their derby clash thanks to first-half goals from Paul Furlong and John O'Flynn.

Rochdale took advantage to move second, winning 2-0 at Darlington - Will Buckley and Chris O'Grady on target. The Quakers remain winless and in the basement.

Rotherham also came away with nothing on what was a poor night for the front runners, Ian Sharps' own goal helping Northampton to a 3-1 win.

Shrewsbury went behind to hosts Cheltenham after Barry Hayles' 60th-minute strike but recovered to win 2-1 as Dave Hibbert and

Joss Labadie netted within three minutes of each other.

Luke Rodgers scored a hat-trick to pick up a 3-0 win for Notts County over Lincoln, their second consecutive success since Sol Campbell's acrimonious departure.

However, it was not a good start to Chris Sutton's tenure as Imps boss - he watched from the stands before taking full charge on Wednesday.

Aldershot and Torquay drew 1-1 as did Burton and Macclesfield.

An 83rd-minute goal from Andy Dawson sealed a dramatic 3-2 win for Bury over Crewe, while three of the four goals in Port Vale's 2-2 draw with Accrington came in the closing five minutes.

Phil Edwards' penalty cancelled out Louis Dodds' early goal before Vale, who put all their players up for sale on Monday, appeared to seal the win through Tommy Fraser. However, Andrew Procter netted in the final minute to earn Stanley a point.

Finally, Bradford and Morecambe fought out a stalemate at Christie Park.
