SWINDON STRETCH WINNING RUN

Swindon extended their winning start to the Coca-Cola League Two season to five games after easing past Stockport with a 2-0 win.

Aaron Brown smashed in a free-kick just past the half-hour mark and Christian Roberts sealed the points shortly after the hour.

Walsall continue to give chase after making it four wins out of five with a narrow 1-0 victory over Darlington.

Martin Butler's header in the final minute of the first half proved enough to take all three points.

Bury hauled themselves off the foot of the table in style after a first-half hammering of Grimsby.

Tom Youngs set the tone five minutes in and he had his second before the 20-minute mark.

Nicky Adams netted a brilliant third in first-half stoppage-time.

Jamie Forrester scored all four goals as Lincoln ran out 4-2 winners at Mansfield.

The striker completed his first ever hat-trick inside half an hour before Richard Barker missed a penalty for the hosts.

Forrester helped himself to a fourth - his second from the spot - just after the break but Mansfield had some consolation through strikes from substitute Danny Reet and a successful Barker spot-kick.

A single goal was enough to propel 10-man MK Dons up to third as they hung on at Boston.

Clive Platt put the visitors ahead before Izale McLeod saw red late on for violent conduct.

Rochdale finally found the net at the fifth time of asking but were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw with Accrington Stanley.

Chris Dagnall ended a goal drought of almost 380 minutes for the visitors but Gary Roberts' penalty denied them all three points.

Roberto Martinez netted deep into stoppage-time to rescue a 2-2 draw for Chester at Torquay.

Jamie Ward twice put the hosts ahead but substitute Drewe Broughton and Martinez ensured a share of the spoils.

Promoted Hereford continue to impress after beating Hartlepool 3-1, Tim Sills, Robert Purdie (pen) and substitute Andrew Williams netting for the hosts and James Brown coming off the bench to score for the visitors.

Lewis Haldane's first-half strike was enough to give Bristol Rovers a welcome win over Shrewsbury.

Jermaine Easter and Tommy Mooney gave Wycombe a 2-0 success at Macclesfield, Tresor Kandol cancelled out Mark Jones' strike to rescue a 1-1 draw for Barnet at Wrexham, while Notts County and Peterborough fought out a goalless draw.
