Leeds remain top of Coca-Cola League One after their clash with second-placed Charlton ended goalless at Elland Road.

Leading scorer Jermaine Beckford twice went close for the Yorkshire side, who are now the only unbeaten side in any of the top four divisions in England.

Bristol Rovers missed out on the chance to close the gap as they were thrashed 5-1 at resurgent Norwich.

Chris Martin (9) set the Canaries on their way, and although Jeff Hughes (26) equalised from the spot, a penalty by Wes Hoolahan (31), Grant Holt's double (33 & 40) and a late strike by Jamie Cureton (90) made it a second resounding home win for Paul Lambert's men in the space of a week.

Colchester - whom Lambert left to head to Carrow Road - moved up into fourth after they beat Huddersfield 1-0 at the Weston Homes Community Stadium with an 80th-minute strike from Kayode Odejayi.

MK Dons remain in the hunt after Jermaine Easter took his season's tally to eight goals to condemn 10-man Brighton to their fourth defeat in five home games.

Defender Adam El-Abd (26) received a straight red card for a studs-up challenge on Richie Partridge.

Swindon extended their unbeaten league record to nine games as they won 3-2 at Brentford.

Alex Revell (8) and Ben Hutchinson (21) put the visitors in control, but Carl Cort (77) reduced the deficit.

Revell smashed home a 25-yard drive to wrap up the win before Charlie MacDonald (82) headed home at the far post from a corner, but it was not enough to salvage a point.

James Henry notched a hat-trick as Millwall hit five without reply against Tranmere to continue the pressure on Rovers manager John Barnes.

Tranmere finished the game with 10 men after Marlon Broomes was sent off. Andy Frampton and Steve Morison were the other scorers for the Lions.

Southampton reached positive points figures after they thrashed Gillingham 4-1 at St Mary's.

The Saints, who started with a 10-point penalty following administration, had a double from Adam Lallana help to earn them victory.

Exeter beat Hartlepool 3-1 after going behind, while Southend won 2-0 at 10-man Stockport with a second-half double from Lee Barnard after Paul Huntington had been sent off.

Scott McGleish's header gave Leyton Orient a 1-0 win at Wycombe, while a dramatic last-minute goal from Richard Keogh gave Carlisle a 2-2 draw at Walsall.

The match between Oldham and Yeovil finished goalless.
