ADDICKS MAINTAIN 100% RECORD

By Adrian Curtis, Press Association Sport

Charlton remain top of League One after recording their fourth straight win of the season with a 2-0 home success over Walsall.

Miguel Llera put them on the road to success with a close-range strike in the 21st minute and Scott Wagstaff made sure of the points in the 71st minute.

Unbeaten Leeds are still second following their 3-0 victory over Tranmere at Elland Road.

United, like Charlton, have a 100% record and they easily overcame John Barnes' Rovers thanks to goals from Bradley Johnson, Jermaine Beckford, and Luciano Becchio.

Colchester remain third despite losing 2-1 at MK Dons.

Jermaine Easter gave the home side the lead in the 22nd minute and Mark Carrington made it two in the 57th minute. Scott Vernon pulled one back for Colchester but it was not enough to inspire them to get back in the game.

Bristol Rovers moved into fourth spot thanks to a 1-0 win over previously-unbeaten Huddersfield.

The decisive goal arrived in the 83rd minute when Town's Andy Butler was punished for handball and Jeff Hughes converted the spot-kick to earn the home side victory.

Troubled Norwich despatched Wycombe 5-2 at Carrow Road to get Paul Lambert's City career off to a flying start.

The Canaries were 3-1 in front at half-time thanks to strikes from Grant Holt, Korey Smith, and Jon Otsemobor. Although Jon-Paul Pittman and Matt Harrold made it 3-2, Jens Askou and another from Holt ensured City earned their first victory of the season.

Brentford's fine start to the season continued with a 1-1 draw against rock-bottom Southampton. The Bees are now fifth after coming from behind to draw.

Dan Harding looked to have won the game for Saints when he scored in the 73rd minute but Cleveland Taylor headed the equaliser eight minutes from time.

Yeovil and Leyton Orient were involved in a six-goal thriller which ended 3-3. Orient were twice in front but had to rely on a 60th-minute strike from Ryan Jarvis to earn a share of the spoils.

Exeter moved up to 10th thanks to a 1-0 win at Carlisle. A 73rd-minute penalty from veteran striker Marcus Stewart settled the contest.

Oldham and Swindon shared the points in a 2-2 draw at Boundary Park.

Swindon looked to have won it when Billy Paynter put the visitors in front two minutes into injury-time. However, Oldham saved the game a minute later when Kieran Lee scored with a long-range effort.

Brighton remain second-bottom after a 4-2 home defeat at the hands of Stockport. A hat-trick from Carl Baker helped County win all three points.

Hartlepool won 1-0 at Gillingham thanks to James Brown's goal in the 64th minute.
