Colchester, Charlton and Leeds preserved their 100% records at the top of League One after they each came from behind to win 2-1 on Tuesday.

With Joe Dunne in temporary chargeat Colchester after Paul Lambert quit the club to join Norwich earlier in the day, the U's fell behind against Gillingham when Curtis Weston scored from close range in the 11th minute.

However, they levelled when Scott Vernon seized on Kevin Lisbie's pass from the right and sent a right-footed shot home.

The same players were involved in hosts Colchester's winner, Vernon turning provider for Lisbie to slot home.

Charlton started their game against Leyton Orient in second place but then went behind to Tamika Mkandawire's close-range header midway through the first half.

Jonjo Shelvey brought the scores level with a right-footed shot and Deon Burton grabbed Charlton's winner late on with a lob, as they stayed second on goal difference.

Leeds remain third after a thrilling win at Walsall where all the goals came late on.

Walsall went ahead after 79 minutes through Sam Parkin's spot-kick after Patrick Kisnorbo's foul on Steve Jones.

However, the visitors levelled when Bradley Johnson headed home four minutes later and Jermaine Beckford put the visitors ahead three minutes later.

Huddersfield stayed fourth after a 7-1 home win over Brighton, in which they could even afford to miss a penalty.

The hosts went ahead through Antony Kay's six-yard header before Liam Dickinson levelled.

Peter Clarke reclaimed the lead for the Terriers a minute later and Brighton's task was made doubly hard when goalkeeper Michel Kuipers was dismissed for a professional foul on Lee Novak, the striker then scoring the resulting penalty.

Jordan Rhodes saw his spot-kick saved before Gary Roberts got a fourth and Daniel Drinkwater made it 5-1 with 20 minutes to go with a 20-yard shot. Substitute Theo Robinson then grabbed a late double to increase the punishment.
