Oldham Athletic boss Dave Penney has been hit by the news that defender Kelvin Lomax could be out of action until the New Year.
Lomax missed out on the defeat to Huddersfield with a knee injury suffered in the victory at Brighton.
The 22-year-old is waiting to hear back from the specialist to find out the length of his lay-off.
Physio Marc Czuczman told the club's official website: "It's a bone bruise of the tibia plus a small un-displaced intra-articular fracture.
"The films are currently with a specialist; if they consider the fracture insignificant then Kelvin could be back in two weeks.
"However the reality could well be up to eight weeks."
