Leyton Orient boss Martin Ling was delighted to see substitute Paul Connor grab the winner in his side's triumph at Northampton on Tuesday.
Connor struck the only goal of the game in the 79th minute to make it three league wins on the trot for Orient and lift them out of the relegation zone.
"That was a big win for us, it's back to back wins away from home and three wins on the spin altogether," said Ling.
"I thought we could nick the game late on, which was why I sent Paul Connor on and it was great to see him get his first goal of the season.
"It was all doom and gloom after the FA Cup defeat [by Torquay] but since then we've picked up nine points in three games and if someone had offered me that I'd have taken it.
"It has lifted the spirit in the dressing room and we are out of the bottom four for the first time in ages."
