West Brom should be boosted by the return of influential duo Roman Bednar and Chris Brunt for the visit of Watford but Youssouf Mulumbu has emerged as a doubt.

Bednar, who has three goals to his name this season, has missed the last two games with a trapped nerve sustained in the home triumph over Reading.

Yet he provides a timely return against the Hornets as Albion look to end a dry spell in front of goal that has resulted in a near drought when it comes to points.

Should the Czech Republic international return to Roberto Di Matteo's starting XI then it remains to be seen who will join him in attack, with a host of calls for Simon Cox to be given his chance with Luke Moore and Chris Wood also hoping for inclusion.

Brunt's return also provides a huge boost to Albion who have missed the Northern Irishman's creative talents over the last three games due to a calf injury.

But fellow midfielder Mulumbu will be the subject of a late fitness test after tweaking a knee ligament during training on Tuesday. James Morrison (heel), Ishmael Miller and Neil Clement (both knee) remain sidelined for the long-term.

Heidar Helguson is set to return to the Watford squad for the trip.

The on-loan QPR striker has been sidelined since his second debut for the Hornets against Leicester last month, during which he scored twice before suffering a calf injury.

But Watford will be without teenage midfielder Ross Jenkins, who is set to see a specialist after suffering a back injury in Friday night's 4-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday.

Jenkins joins club captain Jay DeMerit on the sidelines as he continues his recovery from eye surgery.

The American centre-half hopes to return to action before Christmas.

Rookie goalkeeper Jonathan Bond, 16, will be on the bench again as Richard Lee has not recovered from his knee injury.
