Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Michael Gray has confirmed he has only sustained a slight hamstring strain and should be back against QPR a week on Saturday.

Gray, who will miss this weekend's trip to Bristol City, has enjoyed a relatively injury-free career that has spanned over 17 years.

He said: "I got scanned earlier in the week and the news was quite positive after coming off injured against Watford last week.

"You get graded one to three with one being OK and three being pretty bad. Mine is a grade one strain, so that is good news.

"I shouldn't be out of action for long. Through my career I've had very few injuries so I'm lucky really.

"Hopefully my injuries can stay at a minimum. It's not just about how you prepare for games but how you recover from training sessions and matches too. Ice baths and massages are important and stretching after games."
