Sheffield Wednesday manager Brian Laws will not be rushing leading goalscorer Marcus Tudgay back from injury.

Tudgay missed last weekend's home win over Coventry due to a niggling neck injury and remains doubtful for the Owls' midweek clash with Preston at Hillsborough.

Laws said: "We've been really pleased with Marcus' progress and he's itching to get back in the team.

"But we also have to make sure when he is back, he is 100 per cent.

"While we have (Leon) Clarke and (Luke) Varney, Akpo Sodje and (Francis) Jeffers backing them up, it gives Marcus a chance to get his neck right."
