Scunthorpe manager Nigel Adkins is concerned that defender Rob Jones could be a long-term injury worry with his hamstring problem.

The Scot limped off during the Iron's 2-1 defeat at Plymouth.

Jones' participation in Scunthorpe's next fixture against Sheffield United in a week's time is in doubt, and Adkins is concerned that the injury could hamper him in future games.

"Rob is the biggest injury concern that we've got at the moment," Adkins told the Scunthorpe Telegraph.

"Potentially his hamstring injury could give us a problem for our next games against Sheffield United, Newcastle United - and even the Peterborough game.

"It looks touch and go at the moment and we will have to monitor how he goes next week."
