CECH DOUBLE SENDS BAGGIES TO SUMMIT Bet on the Championship with Sky Bet!

Marek Cech struck twice as West Brom came from behind to move top of the Coca-Cola Championship with a 3-1 win over Plymouth.

The Baggies hit back after Jamie Mackie had given the Pilgrims a 12th-minute lead at The Hawthorns with Shelton Martis and Cech replying before the break.

Slovakia international Cech made the points certain when he added his second four minutes from time.

Jeremie Aliadiere scored twice as Middlesbrough maintained their fine start by compounding the woes of Roy Keane's Ipswich with a 3-1 win at the Riverside Stadium.

Gary O'Neil turned in the opening goal from a Marvin Emnes cross after 17 minutes and Aliadiere doubled the tally just after the hour.

The former Arsenal man hit a second late on to ensure Boro climbed to second in the table but a Jonathan Walters penalty gave Ipswich a late consolation.

Nicky Maynard struck three minutes into the second half as Bristol City earned a 1-1 draw at Coventry. Leon Best had given the Sky Blues the lead after 18 minutes.

Former Liverpool striker Neil Mellor was on target as Preston claimed a 2-0 win over Swansea at Deepdale.

Mellor put his side ahead after 27 minutes and Stephen Elliott made the game safe in the closing minutes.

Scunthorpe hit form after a disappointing start to the season to run out 4-0 winners at Crystal Palace.

Jonathan Forte, Paul Hayes, Sam Togwell and Michael O'Connor were all on target as the Iron secured their second win of the season.

Palace were denied a late consolation when Joe Murphy saved a Freddie Sears penalty.

Matthew Kilgallon ended Derby's 100% home record when he headed in 10 minutes from time to hand Sheffield United a 1-0 win at Pride Park.

Matt Fryatt scored twice as Leicester beat former manager Ian Holloway's Blackpool side 2-1 at the Walkers Stadium.

Fryatt's 26th-minute opener was cancelled out by Charlie Adam five minutes later but the Foxes striker settled the match just before the hour.

Marcus Tudgay earned Sheffield Wednesday a 1-1 draw after falling behind to an early Nottingham Forest goal at Hillsborough.

Dexter Blackstock claimed his fourth of the season with a glancing header after just two minutes but the Owls hit back through Tudgay before the interval.

QPR and Peterborough also drew 1-1 at Loftus Road after Wayne Routledge, with his fifth of the campaign, equalised for the Londoners following an Aaron McLean opener.

Reading and Doncaster played out a goalless draw at the Madejski Stadium while Danny Graham's solitary goal handed Watford a 1-0 win over Barnsley at Vicarage Road.
