Reading striker Dave Mooney has joined Charlton Athletic on loan until December 1.
The Irish striker, who will link-up with former Royals midfielder and current Addicks boss Phil Parkinson, could feature against Huddersfield on Saturday.
The 24-year-old has scored two goals in two first team starts this season but has yet to make a real impact on the first team.
Parkinson says the move affords him back-up for injured striker Leon McKenzie who has suffered a set-back in training.
The added strike power also means Deon Burton can recover properly from a hernia problem.
"Leon has had a bit of a setback in training," he told the club's official website.
"It's nothing major, but it leaves Izale McLeod and Deon as our only two senior strikers.
"Dave is a goalscorer and an intelligent footballer," he added. "He's someone we looked at when he was on loan at Norwich City last year and we've watched him for Reading's reserves this season.
"He's hungry to come and play and we look forward to working with him."
