Former Celtic striker Simon Donnelly netted the winner as Sheffield Wednesday
scored twice in the last four minutes to beat First Division QPR in a pre-season
friendly at Loftus Road tonight.
Donnelly, signed along with Parkhead team-mate Phil O'Donnell on a free
transfer under the Bosman ruling, cut inside with three minutes remaining and
drilled a low shot into the corner.
Wednesday gave a run-out to four of their summer signings - Scots Donnelly and
O'Donnell were joined by Belgian international Gilles De Bilde and Dutchman
Gerald Sibon.
But it was Rangers who opened the scoring in the second half when Tony
Scully's cross from the right was headed home by Kevin Gallen.
The Premiership visitors equalised when De Bilde - a £3million signing from
PSV Eindhoven - sent over the ball from the left, and Rangers defender Tim
Breacker knocked the ball into his own net in the 86th minute.
