QPR have completed the signing of teenage forward Samuel Di Carmine on a season-long loan from Fiorentina.

The 19-year-old Italian has become the latest addition to the new-look squad at Loftus Road as manager Iain Dowie builds for a promotion bid next season.

"Samuel is a young striker with potential," said Dowie.

"I went out to see him play in Italy and I thought he did very well.

"He leads the line well and uses his body very well for someone so young.

"A season-long loan provides us with a good opportunity to have a closer look at him.

"Technically, he looks fine. He might take a little bit of time to adjust to the physical rigours of Championship football, but I'm sure he's capable of that.

"What we want is a good under-belly of young players at the club. When you're building for the future that's vitally important."

Di Carmine arrives hot on the heels of Genoa's Emmanuel Jorge Ledesma, who penned an identical deal on Friday afternoon, while Radek Cerny, Peter Ramage and Matteo Alberti are also on board at the wealthy west London club.
