Wolves boss Glenn Hoddle was condemned to yet another 1-1 draw as Plymouth's David Friio secured a point for the visitors at Molineux

Hoddle, who has not yet tasted victory since taking charge, has now notched up five consecutive 1-1 draws but was hopeful of victory after South Korean international Ki-Hyeon Seol had given Wanderers the lead with a 30-yard shot.

The two sides found themselves separated by both a single point and place before the start of play and Friio's equaliser emphasised the lack of distance between the two teams.

Both sides enjoyed some success down the flanks in the early exchanges. Shaun Newton was getting forward with intent from his right-back position and put a couple of teasing balls in, while Bjarni Gudjonsson swung a dangerous corner into the Wolves box which was cleared by Jody Craddock.

Plymouth striker Mickey Evans had the game's first effort on target after 13 minutes but his hopeful 30-yard shot was comfortably held by Michael Oakes.

The visitors were having a number of set-piece opportunities but a Wolves defence that had proved susceptible to crosses in the past stood resolute and repelled anything that Gudjonsson threw at them.

However, the home side were dominating play and took the lead in the 23rd minute with a 30-yard shot from Seol.

He took a pass from Kenny Miller, advanced and drilled a right-foot shot into the bottom left-hand corner of Romain Larrieu's goal.

David Norris immediately responded with a 25-yard effort that flew over Oakes' bar before Larrieu brilliantly held on to a dangerous cross from Lee Naylor.

Colin Cameron then tried his luck from long range before Miller was denied as Paul Wotton blocked his goal-bound shot from the left side of the penalty area at the expense of a corner.

As the half-time interval closed in Plymouth had another opportunity from a corner after Paul Connolly's cross was cleared by Joleon Lescott but Gudjonsson failed to find a visiting player.

Miller had another effort from 18 yards right on the whistle but his right-foot shot flew wide of goal.

The home side opened up the second half in a similar fashion to how they ended the first as Larrieu was again called into action.

Cameron's cross was tipped over by the Plymouth 'keeper before another centre from the midfielder was latched onto by Lescott and his close range shot was smothered by Larrieu.

But despite the home team's superiority there was only one goal in it and Friio pulled the Pilgrims back into it in the 57th minute.

The dangerous French midfielder drilled a right-foot shot low past Oakes for his sixth goal of the season.

Understandably frustrated, Wolves' Jody Craddock was booked for dissent as the visitors looked to take advantage of the deflated Molineux ranks.

Connolly's cross was blocked at the expense of a corner by Naylor but yet again Gudjonsson could only find a Wolves head in the penalty area.

The home side came back into it and Newton was in the thick of the action. The makeshift right-back had a 25-yard shot blocked by Peter Gilbert before his cross found Keith Andrews whose right-foot shot was saved by Larrieu.

Friio then had another attempt from long-range but Lescott got in the way of his 30-yard effort and blocked it for another unproductive Pilgrims corner.

Both sides tried for the winner in the closing 10 minutes but despite plenty of effort no clear-cut chances were created.
