Peterborough have branded newspaper claims that manager Darren Ferguson was called in for crisis talks with chairman Darragh MacAnthony on Sunday as "pure fabrication".
Posh suffered their eighth defeat of the season to Barnsley at the weekend to leave them languishing 23rd in the Coca-Cola Championship.
A report in Monday's Daily Mirror claimed that MacAnthony held talks with Ferguson, however the club have slammed the report as "untrue".
"Peterborough United Football Club would like to state that the story that appeared in the Daily Mirror on Monday claiming that Darren Ferguson was called for 'summit' talks with chairman Darragh MacAnthony on Sunday is pure fabrication and untrue," said a statement on the club's official website.
"Ferguson was at a coaching course in Cardiff and left after completing his presentation and is in work as normal on Monday."
