New signing Bondz N'Gala has revealed a move to Scunthorpe came highly recommended by his West Ham team-mate Jordan Spence.

N'Gala joined the Iron on an initial one-month loan deal at the weekend and the defender said his decision to move to Glanford Park was made easier by Spence, who is also on loan with the Championship side from the Hammers.

The 20-year-old trained with his new team-mates for the first time on Monday and will be in contention for Saturday's game at Blackpool.

He told the club's official website: "I found out Scunthorpe were interested last week, I gave it some thought and was quite excited about it.

"Before I signed I spoke with Jordan and he told me it was a good club and that the team like to play good football, which I saw in training on Monday.

"It's a good opportunity to show what I can do."
