Leicester face competition from as many as a dozen clubs for the signature of Louis Dodds after the player's agent stated it was "doubtful" he would remain at the Walkers Stadium.

The 21-year-old, who graduated from the Foxes academy but has yet to make a first-team appearance for the club, is out of contract this summer.

City have offered the forward, who spent last season on loan at League Two side Lincoln, a one-year deal. The Imps are also interested in signing Dodds permanently after he scored nine goals in 44 appearances during his temporary stay.

"Louis is at the age where he needs to be playing on a regular basis but there is no guarantee that would happen if he stays where he is," Dodds' agent Tam Byrne told the Leicester Mercury. "If you were to ask me what are the chances of him remaining with Leicester I would have to say it is doubtful, although you cannot rule anything out.

"After what he achieved with Lincoln last season there have been a dozen clubs all wanting to be informed of his situation. I certainly think they have all been impressed with what they have seen.

"But, out of all the interested parties, Lincoln would certainly be the favourites to sign him purely because if you ask Louis he really enjoyed his time there."
