Southampton chairman Leon Crouch insists his sole focus is ensuring the club's Championship survival despite the off-field storm brewing.
Former chairmen Rupert Lowe and Michael Wilde have joined forces to call an EGM at which they will attempt to remove the current board, including Crouch, and regain control of the club.
But Crouch is unhappy at the timing of the move, with Saints having slipped into the drop zone following Tuesday night's draw between Sheffield Wednesday and Coventry.
"We have received the official notice asking for an EGM but we are focused completely on Saturday's big home game against Bristol City and our remaining matches," he told the club's official website.
"All our energy is concentrated on getting behind Nigel Pearson and the players to ensure we stay in this division.
"It is a time for showing character and strength and we need all the fans behind the team in these five remaining fixtures to help us to safety."
