Dutch striker Berry Powel has had his Millwall contract cancelled by mutual consent.
Powel, 26, joined the club for £125,000 from Dutch outfit Den Bosch in January - but made just eight first-team starts, scoring only one goal.
His departure represents a significant loss for the Lions, who were relegated to League One last summer.
New boss Nigel Spackman explained: "I spoke to Berry and outlined my plans to bring new faces into the squad and told him that I couldn't guarantee he would be one of my first-choice strikers.
"He indicated, therefore, that his desire was to have his contract cancelled, and we have acceded to his wishes."
