Millwall have boosted their ranks ahead of next season by signing former Charlton Under-18 captain Adam Cottrell on a one-year deal.

The 19-year-old defender is a lifelong Lions fan and expressed his delight at signing for his hometown club.

Cottrell told the club's official website: "When I had the chance to join Millwall I jumped at it.

"I played with several of the Millwall lads in district football when I was younger.

"I'm determined to prove that I can do a job for this club and I'm really looking forward to it."
