Kevin Blackwell has revealed his decision to take the job as Luton manager was made on the promise of new investment into the club.
When Blackwell was installed into the Kenilworth Road hot-seat last month, he was aware of the imminent appointment of David Pinkney as chairman, which was announced last week.
And, although the Hatters sit on the brink of relegation to League One, the former Leeds boss believes Pinkney can move them in the right direction.
"I knew who I was coming to work for," Blackwell told the club's official website.
"Once he'd sold me his vision and expressed his clear desire to move from Kenilworth Road to a brand new stadium I wanted to take it on.
"His reputation as a businessman is highly regarded in the business world. He's a man of substance who has the clout to make things happen. I feel that's a really big bonus with Luton's recent history."
