Simon Cox insists he and his West Brom team-mates must be on their guard against in-form striker Matt Fryatt as the Baggies prepare to take on Leicester at the Walkers Stadium on Saturday.

Three wins in a row have helped newly-promoted Leicester up to fourth place in the Championship, with Fryatt's nine goals in 15 league games key to their encouraging start.

The 23-year-old has carried on where he left off in League One last season, when he fired in 27 goals to help the Foxes to the title.

Cox, who hit 29 goals in the same division for Swindon before moving to The Hawthorns this summer, told his club's official website: "Fryatt is a player who works hard and his record last year was good.

"He was consistent and one of the reasons they got promotion. We have to be on our guard.

"He can make the step up. He's still high on confidence.

"The manager there (Nigel Pearson) obviously told him he would play and he's cracked on, carrying on his form.

"He's already in double figures (in all competitions) for this year so he has done well."

Cox has not made such an impressive start at the higher level as Fryatt but marked only his second league start with a goal in the 5-0 win over Watford last weekend, when he also picked up the man of the match award.

"It's nice to be back playing again," he said. "If you look at the Watford game we were very up for it and I was playing with a smile on my face from the first minute to the last.

"The first game I started was the Plymouth one and I was in awe of the surroundings and getting my first start.

"I think I got lost in that and overwhelmed. On Saturday I forgot all about that and it went well for me so I was happy."

West Brom midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu has returned to training after tweaking his knee ligaments to ensure Baggies boss Roberto di Matteo has close to a fully-fit squad, while Aleksandar Tunchev (knee) remains Leicester's only absentee.
