Milan Mandaric is adamant that Leicester manager Nigel Pearson will not be joining Middleborough as Gareth Southgate's successor.
Southgate was sacked as Boro boss late on Tuesday despite guiding his side to a 2-0 win over Derby earlier that night, to take them to within a point of leaders Newcastle.
Foxes boss Pearson is just one of a number of names linked with the job having captained Boro to two promotions, two League Cup finals and one FA Cup final during his four years with the club.
However Mandaric insists the former defender is happy at the Walkers Stadium and will not be vacating his post.
"If I was you I would not put your money on that," Mandaric told Sky Sports News.
"It is not going to happen. Nigel is our man here, he is happy here, we are happy with him.
"On one hand I would be surprised and probably unhappy if people started to look at Nigel.
"He is a good man and solid as a rock. As far as that goes he is staying with Leicester City."
