Doncaster have refused permission for on-loan pair Waide Fairhurst and Ben Smith to appear in this weekend's FA Cup.

Striker Fairhurst joined Shrewsbury for an initial month at the end of October and has made two appearances for the League Two side, scoring on his debut against Aldershot.

Goalkeeper Smith has started in all of Morecambe's last three matches since arriving at Christie Park in the middle of October.

Fairhurst will miss Shrewsbury's home first-round clash with Staines Town while Smith will be sidelined for Morecambe's trip to Carlisle.
