Sheffield United pair Matthew Kilgallon and Keith Treacy are major doubts for the home clash with local rivals Doncaster.

Treacy feared he had damaged knee ligaments at Swansea last weekend and although scans have not confirmed this, the Irish winger will undergo a late fitness test. David Cotterill and Glen Little are on stand-by.

Kilgallon was forced out of the action against Ipswich in midweek after turning his ankle and will also have a late fitness test. On-loan Stoke defender Andrew Davies could therefore start alongside Chris Morgan.

Striker Jamie Ward remains sidelined with a hamstring strain, so recent loan signing Richard Cresswell will provide manager Kevin Blackwell with another option again after stepping off the bench for his first appearance on Tuesday night.

Defender Gary Naysmith is continuing his recovery from a cruciate ligament injury sustained in April.

Doncaster will be without striker Billy Sharp and have several other doubts for the trip.

Rovers, unsettled by a string of suspensions and injuries in recent weeks, have agreed not to play on-loan striker Sharp against his parent club, so Paul Heffernan is expected to return to the starting line-up alongside James Hayter.

Heffernan and Hayter have struggled this season with groin injuries.

James Coppinger, who has only just returned from an ankle problem, is doubtful after being kicked on his calf during the midweek draw with Swansea and Adam Lockwood is a major concern after sustaining a metatarsal injury in the same match.

Midfield pair John Oster and Quinton Fortune sit out the second of a three-game ban following their dismissals against Scunthorpe while Sean McDaid, yet to play this season due to a cruciate knee ligament injury, is hoping to return to training next week.
