An injury-time goal by Bradford's Jamie Lawrence secured a dramatic victory
over Derby, who have now gone seven Division One games without a win.
Lawrence, who returned to the Bantams squad after suspension and came on as an
early subsitute for Simon Francis, scrambled the winner in the 92nd minute
following a great break by Ashley Ward.
Derby's Lee Morris marked his return from injury with an equalising goal from
close range on 28 minutes after Claus Jorgensen had put Bradford ahead.
The Danish midfielder drilled home his eighth goal of the season from 25 yards
just before the quarter-hour mark after a lively opening at Pride Park.
Nick Chadwick almost levelled Jorgensen's strike in the 21st minute, but his
right-foot volley was well held by Aidan Davison.
The visitors could have regained the lead had Ward not blazed over the bar a
couple of minutes before half-time.
After the re-start, Derby continued to control the game - and Craig Burley
almost put the hosts in front with a dipping effort from distance which just
missed the target.
Bradford's first real attack of the second period came in the 52nd minute when
Ward volleyed over from the edge of the area after a rare foray into Derby
territory.
The home side continued to press forward, and Fabrizio Ravanelli bent a
30-yard free-kick narrowly wide of Davison's post just after the hour.
But it was Bradford who created the better chanes, and Andy Gray headed wide
from a superb Gus Uhlenbeek cross before Lawrence pounced.
