The Football Association have charged Derby with failing to control their players following an incident in the Coca-Cola Championship match with Swansea at Pride Park on Saturday.
The charge relates to a mass confrontation between players from both clubs. Separately, the Football Association of Wales has also charged Swansea with the same offence.
Derby have until March 9 to respond to the charge.
Derby defender James McEveley has also been charged with improper conduct following his dismissal in the same fixture. He has until 6pm on to reply to the charge, which will be heard on 25 February.
