Crewe striker Juan Ugarte has had his contract with the club terminated by mutual consent.

The Basque striker, who made only three appearances for the club, had one year remaining on his contract.

Ugarte had two loan spells back at the Racecourse Ground, but his season was hampered by a persistent knee injury, for which he is currently receiving treatment in Spain.

A statement on Crewe's official website read: "It goes without saying that we wish him all the best for the future."
