Crewe manager Dario Gradi admits there are several stumbling blocks in the way of completing a deal for Slovakian striker Pavel Suhaj.
Gradi wants to sign the forward, who impressed during a trial but needs to confirm a fee with his club AS Trencin and also has to agree personal terms with the player's agent, who has returned to Slovakia now demanding higher wages than previously agreed.
Gradi said: "We'll make an offer for him and we'll have to see if his club are willing to accept that.
"His agent has come back and asked for better wages - not a fortune - but more than we're prepared to pay him because he won't come here as our best player.
"We thought his valuation would increase slightly but we won't let that drag on."
