Peterborough boss Jim Gannon will be without club-record signing Ryan Bennett for the game against Coventry.

The central defender is sidelined with an ankle injury sustained last month and is thought to be around a fortnight away from a return.

Gannon is also sweating on the fitness of defender Exodus Geohaghon and on-loan striker Reuben Reid given they are both carrying knocks, however, both are optimistic of at least making the bench.

Less promising, however, is defender Josh Simpson's chances as he is struggling with a thigh injury, although new loan signing Mark Little should come in for his first start since arriving from Wolves.

Dominic Green, who was recalled this week from his loan at Chesterfield, will vie for a place in attack after the departure of George Boyd to Nottingham Forest.

Posh, whose five wins have all come at London Road this season, have scored just five goals in their last nine league games.

Coventry are without three players for the trip while Chris Coleman is also sweating on the availability of Sammy Clingan.

Centre-back Richard Wood could be out for up to three weeks with a hip injury, while fellow defender Leon Barnett is suspended for two games following his second dismissal in as many matches against Scunthorpe last weekend.

Midfielder David Bell will also miss the encounter as he struggles with a cyst in his knee.

Clingan, meanwhile, withdrew from Northern Ireland's friendly in Albania just hours from kick-off on Wednesday night suffering the effects of a virus. Coleman will assess his condition on Friday.

Aron Gunnarsson is OK after his international exploits for Iceland in midweek and will return to the club's Ryton training ground on Friday, but goalkeeper Keiren Westwood played no part in the Republic of Ireland's 2-0 defeat against Brazil.

The Sky Blues will be backed by around 3,000 supporters at London Road as they look to record a fifth win in six games and maintain their play-off push.
