Crystal Palace midfielders Neil Danns and Darren Ambrose will be checked over ahead of the clash with Coventry.

Danns has been suffering with back spasms recently and had to come off half an hour into Wednesday night's defeat by Reading, making him doubtful.

Ambrose was limping towards the end of the match after a heavy challenge but boss Neil Warnock expects his 16-goal top scorer to be fit.

Warnock was unhappy with his side's defending against the Royals and is set to hand a recall to veteran centre-half Matt Lawrence, who has been on the bench for the last two games following a hamstring injury.

Striker Alan Lee should also come back into the starting line-up.

Chris Coleman is confident Freddy Eastwood and Gary Deegan will be fit for Coventry's trip.

Striker Eastwood (hamstring and groin) and midfielder Deegan (hamstring) were both forced off during Wednesday night's 4-1 defeat at Newcastle and will be assessed fully over the next 24 hours.

Leon Barnett will miss the trip to Selhurst Park, however, having been sent off against the Magpies for a second bookable offence, resulting in a one-match ban.

James McPake has a good chance of stepping straight in having been out of late with a back problem while midfielder David Bell (shin) should also return to contention.

New signings Jon Stead and Freddie Sears have both made substitute appearances since their arrivals at the Ricoh Arena as they look to build up their match fitness and the pair will both be looking for involvement against Palace.

Coleman, who spent four years at Palace as a player, is certain to hand Clinton Morrison a starting berth against the club he has scored over 100 goals for.
