Colchester manager Geraint Williams has told his squad they are playing for their futures over the final three games of the season as he begins planning for life in League One.
Williams will make changes to his playing staff over the summer as he plots the Us' bid to bounce straight back following their relegation this term.
"We're all playing for our futures - management, staff and players. We know that, but it's always been the same in football," he told the Gazette.
"In football, if you've had a bad run as a manager you're sacked. As a player, you could find yourself out of the side, not get back in and then not have your contract renewed.
"Between now and the end of the season, decisions will have to be made. That's an ongoing thing and we're looking at the squad and thinking about where it needs strengthening."
