Blackpool squandered a two-goal lead as Coca-Cola Championship play-off chasing Hull salvaged a point with a stirring second-half fightback.

Paul Dickov scored after 39 and 50 minutes to give the visitors a commanding lead, but Hull came roaring back to snatch a draw thanks to goals from substitute Caleb Folan and Dean Windass.

With time running out, Kaspars Gorkss was sent off for a second bookable offence, but Blackpool clung on to secure a deserved point.

Hull created the first clear opening when Hughes' low cross from the left evaded the entire Blackpool defence, but Windass could not force the ball home at the far post.

At the other end, Hull goalkeeper Bo Myhill was forced into his first save when he tipped over Shaun Barker's header following a Wes Hoolahan corner.

However, just as the game had settled into a good rhythm, Hull suffered an injury blow when Bryan Hughes collapsed in a heap after jumping for a ball in the home penalty area. Following a lengthy stoppage of around six minutes, the midfielder was carried off on a stretcher to be replaced by Nick Barmby.

Just seconds after the restart, Windass was presented with his second clear opening of the match when he latched onto Fraizer Campbell's flick-on only to fire straight at Paul Rachubka.

Blackpool then snatched the lead out of the blue. Myhill came to punch a long punt from Stephen Crainey but was beaten to the ball by Michael Flynn, who flicked it past the stranded Hull goalkeeper, and Dickov nodded home from point-blank range.

Blackpool then dominated the next few minutes, twice going close to doubling their lead.

Claus Jorgensen's deflected shot flew inches over the bar from eight yards and then Gorkss mishit a shot from six yards after Jorgensen's drilled cross from the right.

Five minutes into the second half, Blackpool established a two-goal cushion.

Again the goal came as a result of a defensive mistake, with Myhill and Michael Turner failing to deal with a lofted through ball from Flynn, allowing Dickov a clear sight of goal.

The striker controlled the loose ball 12 yards out, and scored with an outstanding lob over Myhill.

Hull manager Phil Brown made an attacking substitution when replacing Simon Walton with Folan after 58 minutes, and within two minutes the hosts halved the deficit.

Campbell tricked his way to the byline on the left, and Folan was on hand to turn home his low cross from three yards.

Hull then had the momentum and, with the visitors pegged back, an equalising goal duly arrived after 71 minutes.

Sam Ricketts seized on a loose ball and powered his way to the right byline before looping a cross to the far post, where Windass bundled the ball home from a yard out.

Campbell fired a right-footed shot just over from 20 yards as Hull continued to press and, with seven minutes remaining, Blackpool were reduced to 10 men when Gorkss hacked down Dean Marney and received his second yellow card.

However, Hull were unable to take advantage, and Blackpool held on to claim a point.
