Charlie Adam fully merits his Scotland recall and Stephen Crainey should also be in the squad, according to Blackpool boss Ian Holloway.
Seasiders midfielder Adam, who has not played for his country for two years, was named by George Burley for the friendly with Japan October 10.
Holloway signed Adam, 23, from Rangers this summer and has been rewarded with a series of impressive displays.
He told his club's official website, www.blackpoolfc.co.uk. "He was very upset about Scotland not qualifying and very upset about not being picked, but when I spoke to him the summer, I told him to get playing.
"And once someone sees you playing regularly and doing well, you will get selected and I am delighted that his performances for us have been rewarded.
"I am also pleased that Scotland aren't looking at us as little Blackpool and that the Championship is not a good enough standard because I believe it is.
"And I believe that Charlie and Stephen Crainey are more than good enough for the Scottish team, so God help Scotland's left-back because I can't see him being better than 'Craines'."
