Neville leaves his studs in high after a challenge on Hammill. It's debateable but there did look to be malicious intent despite winning the ball.

61: The goal has very much silenced the Oakwell. They were very much in this tie before that goal but they face a huge task to pull this one back now.

59: GOAL OWEN. Owen receives a throw-in with his back to goal, turns well and bursts towards goal with a nut-meg before bending a fine effort into the bottom corner to put his side two up.

58: Owen's touch lets him down when trying to control a cross at the near post. Goal-kick to Barnsley.

57: Tosic tries his luck from range after receiving with his back to goal, turning and bending an effort just inches wide of the top corner.

54: De Silva goes close for the home side after being played in by Bogdanovic, but the former drags his effort off target with Foster untroubled.

51: Macken's cross is a good one but with no one attacking the ball for Barnsley, Obertan easily volleys clear.

48: Owen bursts into the box onto Welbeck's through ball but he toe-pokes his effort well wide.

United fan Tony Sayers does not see Barnsley getting back into this now that United lead at the break and can see his side dominating from here on.

Welbeck has the last touch of the half as the referee blows for half-time. It was Welbeck's touch in the 6th minute which separates the sides as he turned in Anderson's corner with a free header. Barnsley have made a decent account of themselves though, looking particularly dangerous from corners.

45+1: Steele is there again to sweep up the danger after another poor long ball from United.

45: Anderson over-hits his long-ball towards Owen and Steele is sharp off his line to claim it.

44: Nice link up play between Macheda and Welbeck but Hallfredsson halts the charge.

43: Bogdanovic plays in a delightful ball across the face of goal but no striker had gambled and Neville turns the ball out of play at the far post.

30: As we reach the half-hour mark United lead 1-0 courtesy of Welbeck's header. But the home side have shown some spirit and look dangerous from set-plays.

27: Foster again finds the space for a header but again headers high and over. Promising for Barnsley though, they're making a game of it.

23: Hammill whips in a fine corner and Bogdanovic sees his header crash off the corner of the upright, so close to an equaliser for Barnsley.

22: Brown shows his experience by dispossessing Macken and setting up a United counter which breaks down with Welbeck.

21: De Silva tried his luck from range this time but fails to trouble Foster with a wayward effort.

20: Macheda is penalised for a push on Moore.

19: Great passage of play from United with Owen in the thick of it. He plays a fine weighted pass into the path of Obertan who see's his effort blocked by Steele but Owen can't get a shot away from the rebound.

18: Foster slips when clearing a passback but he gets away with the sliced kick.

17: Evans is fouled by Macken after the striker tried desperately to win the ball back.

16: Welbeck brings down Kozluk in a text-book striker's challenge. Freekick to Barnsley.

15: Hammill tries his luck from range after cutting inside. It's well wide but positive from the home side.
