Leroy Cudjoe grabbed a hat-trick as Huddersfield destroyed Catalans 36-12 to record their fifth straight win and keep alive their hopes of claiming a top-two finish in the engage Super League.

The wing's treble took him into double figures for the season and ensured he went home with the match ball after this seven-try demolition job.

The Dragons led through Clint Greenshields' try but Huddersfield hit back with a brace from Cudjoe and scores from Brett Hodgson and Darrell Griffin to lead 20-12 at the break.

Wing David Hodgson and forward Simon Finnigan touched down in the second half before Cudjoe crossed again as Nathan Brown's men sent out an ominous warning to St Helens ahead of the forthcoming Challenge Cup semi-final between the sides.

In the league, the Giants now trail Saints by four points, but are just tw behind second-placed Leeds.

Warrington turned in a sizzling second-half show to storm back into the top eight with a 62-20 victory over Salford.

The Wolves trailed 20-12 at half-time but ran in nine tries after the break to blitz the Reds with their biggest win under boss Tony Smith.

Warrington scored 50 points without reply in the last 40 minutes after Richie Myler gave the Wolves a glimpse of what they can expect next season.

The England scrum-half, tipped to join the Wolves, grabbed a try to fire Salford ahead for the first time just before the break.

It was Myler's 11th Super League try of the season and his first for Salford since May 17 against Huddersfield.

But Myler was overshadowed by his Warrington counterpart Lee Briers who bagged two touchdowns and set up several others in the remarkable second-half transformation.

Brian Carney, Paul Johnson, Chris Bridge, Adrian Morley, Chris Riley, Ben Westwood, Garreth Carvell, Chris Hicks and Simon Grix all crossed the whitewash for the hosts, while Salford's other tries came from Mark Henry, Jeremy Smith and Stuart Littler.

One blow for Warrington was a suspected broken leg suffered by Paul Wood.

In the day's other game, Castleford won their derby clash with Wakefield 20-12 to keep their play-off hopes bubbling.

Both sides managed two scores each - two-try efforts from Dean Widders and Danny Brough - but a penalty in the first half and three after the interval from Joe Westerman allowed the Tigers to take the local bragging rights away with them.

On Saturday, Paul Cooke gave both sides of the River Hull a timely reminder of his abilities with a stunning performance that earned Hull KR a 24-17 victory against bitter rivals Hull FC at Craven Park.

Since shocking the game in 2007 when he resigned from Hull to take up a contract with his boyhood team, the 28-year-old has struggled to consistently produce his best form.

But the talismanic stand-off delivered when it mattered the most, scoring two tries and creating another for Michael Dobson as the Robins cemented their place in the top four while condemning Hull to a 14th defeat in 18 games to increase the heat on their crestfallen coach Richard Agar.

Jake Webster bagged Hull KR's other try, while Mark Calderwood, Craig Hall and Jordan Tansey crossed for the visitors.

Tony Puletua grabbed a brace of tries as St Helens opened a clear gap at the top of the table by ruthlessly defeating Harlequins 44-24.

Puletua crossed twice in the first half as Saints ran in six tries before the interval - Tom Armstrong, James Graham, Kyle Eastmond and Leon Pryce also crossing the whitewash - and two more after the break in a dominant display.

The hosts finally showed some signs of life after the break, forwards Gareth Haggerty and Chad Robinson showing their strength to crash over.

But these tries sandwiched a further Saints effort after Chris Dean scorched over. Jon Wilkin added his name to the Saints tally before Quins rallied late on with tries from Danny Ward and Matt Gafa.

The win leaves St Helens, for whom hooker Keiron Cunningham produced a superb display, two points ahead of Leeds at the top of the table. For Harlequins it is a sixth successive defeat which leaves their play-off hopes in severe jeopardy.

Bradford Bulls ended their victory drought by gaining revenge against Celtic Crusaders with a 34-12 victory at Brewery Field.

This was the Crusaders' only chance this season to get home and away victories, having dramatically beaten Bradford at the Grattan Stadium 30-24 back in May for their debut Super League victory.

However, Steve McNamara's side secured a convincing victory thanks to tries from Terry Newton, Glenn Morrison, Andy Lynch, Semi Tadulala and Dave Halley (2). Matty Smith and Lincoln Withers touched down for the hosts.

On Friday, Leeds had slumped 28-10 at Wigan as rising star Sam Tomkins capped a superb fightback for the Warriors.

The 20-year-old finished a superb counter-attack to hand Wigan a fourth try and kill off the challenge of champions Leeds in a pulsating game at the newly-renamed DW Stadium.

The Warriors had fallen 10-0 behind in the first half after Leeds tries from Danny McGuire and Scott Donald.

George Carmont began the recovery before the break while Harrison Hansen and Joel Tomkins also touched down to hand Brian Noble's men a fifth successive win.

Pat Richards added six goals.
