Campbell takes Britain into the final.
MIXED FORTUNES FOR RELAY TEAMS
Britain's men's 4x100m relay team, who botched up at last year's worlds and the 2000 Olympics in
Sydney, made no mistakes on Saturday as they qualified for a final from which they
will expect to take home a much-needed gold medal.
The quartet of Christian Malcolm, Darren Campbell, the 100m bronze medallist,
Marlon Devonish, who took 200m bronze on Friday night, and 100m champion Dwain
Chambers won in a comfortable 38.55secs.
However it was a different story for the women who messed up in their semi-final.
The botched third-leg handover between Shani Anderson and Amanda Forrester
left the quartet - which also included Joce Maduaka and Abi Oyepitan - to trail
home sixth in 44.45secs and miss out on Sunday's final.
Team captain Chambers said: "That was comfortable - the main thing was getting
the baton around.
"It will be the same team tomorrow, we all know that we have to deliver."
Malcolm, eighth in the 200m, said: "My legs are a bit stiff after four rounds
of the 200m.
"But I will be even better tomorrow. We all know what we have to do and I
will be giving it everything."
