Since flying to Britain for the Embassy World Championship in 1994, Part has been taken to the hearts of darting afficionados on this side of the Atlantic.
Winning on his first appearance at the Lakeside (and becoming the first overseas world champion in the process) certainly helped his cause as do his regular commentary outings, but fundamentally Part is a classy darts player.
Twice a world champion, the Canadian has travelled as many as 140,000 miles a year in pursuit of darting superstardom, though the introduction of the Order of Merit has allowed him to pick and choose his tournaments more.
A semi-finalist at the US Open earlier this year, Part had a fortnight to remember in June as he went close to beating Raymond van Barneveld at the UK Open, was crowned Canadian national champion for the fourth time and then flew in to win the Players' Championship at Hayling Island.
