When compared to Phil Taylor, Raymond van Barneveld and even James Wade now, Jenkins remains 'the bridesmaid', yet it is a position he remains relatively comfortable with.

The beaten finalist in five televised events over the last 18 months, Jenkins is yet to win a major tournament but rightly pointed out at the recent Grand Slam of Darts that there are plenty of players who would like to trade places with him.

He does, however, remain confident that a "big title will come" and it is not as though he is suffering shock defeats in finals - with the three men above him in the rankings the three men to have beat him in major finals.

Despite his high ranking, 'The Bull' holds a pretty low profile, with the 'flashier' characters in the PDC like Adrian Lewis and Wayne Mardle grabbing more attention than the hugely likeable father of three from Herefordshire.

A former antiques dealer, Jenkins won the Antwerp Open for the third year in a row in 2007, and also won the Players Championship' event in Hayling Island.
